Dr. Scott M. Rocklage is the managing director of 5AM Venture Management LLC since the year 2004. He first joined the company in 2003 but then, he was just a venture partner. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PH.D. in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). While doing his Ph.D., he conducted a research on Richard R. Schrock’s laboratory, a Nobel Prize winner.
Dr. Rocklage has vast, in-depth experience in healthcare management, scientific background as well as an incredible track record when it comes to leadership. His vast experience ranges from leadership in various boards and companies for instance; Dr. Rocklage was once the CEO and president of Nycomed Salutar from 1990 to 1994 and the Chairman and CEO of Cubist Pharmaceuticals from July 1994 to March 2001 while holding R&D positions at Salutar and Catalytica.
